I'm not sure that's a huge distinction, but I don't get it either. Isn't the purpose of writing to get a variety of insights and opinions? I guess my question is, what are they so afraid of? Hard to understand. As they say, when a tree falls in the forest, if there was no one there to hear it, there was no noise. If the mandolin is played, but no one listens, for me there is no music. If I write a blog or book and no one reads it, what is my purpose as a writer? The way I see it, the reason to write is to try and touch others with the written word.
